The subject had been touched upon before, but Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studios are proud to announce that the Game of Thrones RPG (not the RTS that was recently released) will be published in Europe on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms.
This RPG will be based on the A Song of Ice and Fire series of books by George R. R. Martin which have collectively sold over 15 million copies worldwide.
“Cyanide created a truly admirable work with Game of Thrones. The game is faithful to the unique ambiance found in George R.R. Martin’s novels,” declares Cédric Lagarrigue, CEO of Focus Home Interactive. “The narration, the artistic direction, the pace of the game and its direction make it one of the most exciting role-playing games to come in 2012.”
I won’t get too into the details of the game to avoid spoilers and such, but it takes place during the latter half of the first book. You’ll play as a sworn brother of the Night’s Watch as well as a Red Priest, and you’ll meet familiar faces from the series, faithfully recreated from their actors and actresses from the HBO television adaptation.
This RPG is due out for release in early 2012.
