Privates, the reproductive shooter from Size Five Games (of Ben There, Dan That fame), won a Children’s BAFTA tonight in the category Learning, Secondary. It beat out several BBC- and Channel 4 produced network shows, which is a small but important step for the validity of games not just as media, but as educational tools.
The game was set to release on the Indie Games channel on Xbox, but was denied due to the sexual nature of the game. I don’t know about you, but I trust the British Academy more than the Microsoft moderators about what is appropriate for children (and adults).
