With the current success of mobile gaming it’s no surprise that everyone wants a piece of the action and superstore GameStop is no exception. The store is planning on bringing a self-branded Android tablet to their shelves sometime in the near future. According to GamesIndustry.biz the tablet style has already been chosen and is currently undergoing consumer testing.

The device will come with some games already pre-installed and there’s talk of team ups with certain developers for exclusives and dedicated peripherals. This news is coming just a week after GameStop announced that they’d be accepting trade-ins of used iOS devices. With the option of buying either a used iPad or a brand new Android device pre-loaded with games, GameStop has set themselves up to be highly competitive in the mobile gaming field.

There’s no set release date but with the device already undergoing testing it wouldn’t be surprising to hear more about the launch in the coming months.
