In a press release from Harmonix today, the indie company revealed that the seemingly-deserting Red Hot Chili Peppers would be returning to franchise with a massive 8-pack of hit songs for Rock Band 3, to coincide with the release of their new album, I’m With You.
The funk/rock fusion had originally abandoned the franchise due to licensing issues and rumors heavily circulated about an exclusive Red Hot Chili Peppers: Guitar Hero entry from semi-rival company, Activision.
But it seems those rumors can be put to rest now that this new track pack is coming on August 30th, complete with tiny plastic instrument support, keyboards and harmonies where applicable, and even PRO Guitar and Bass upgrades on a couple of songs!

As you can see, this pack includes some of the biggest hits from RHCP, as they are some of the most oft-requested songs on RockBand.com. It also means that the Rock Band album Blood Sugar Sex Magik is still incomplete because of the absence of “Give It Away.”
The pack will be available on Tuesday, August 30th, for the price of 1080 MSP/$13.49/1350 WPS and tracks will be available individually for 160 MSP/$1.99/200 WPS. “Californication” and “Otherside” will have PRO Upgrades available for an additional 80 MSP/$0.99/100 WPS to Squier or Mustang owners.
