Sonic Generations gameplay video released, is heavy on the speed and awesome

Tomorrow, June 23rd, marks the birthday of a certain blue speedster we’ve all come to love over the last 20 years—Sonic the Hedgehog. Tomorrow is also my birthday, but I’m 5 years older than Sonic and don’t have a ton of video games featuring me, so that’s something entirely different.

To celebrate Sonic’s 20th, SEGA are giving us a demo for Sonic Generations for a limited time.

It’ll likely be the Green Hill Zone demo playable at E3 (hands-on impressions to come). Not only that, the demo will also be playable in 3D on both the 360 and PS3 to give you a taste of the ULTRA FAST THIRD DIMENSION.

In addition, you’ll be able to pick up a Sonic Birthday Pack that includes Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, Sonic Adventure and a dynamic Sonic 4 theme for a nice $19.99 on PS3. Pretty good deal for the whole lot. The deal is only available on PSN at the moment, but Sonic is rather impartial, so an XBLA version is likely to show up soon.

You don’t have to get Sonic a present, but he at least appreciates you celebrating with him.
