YES YES YES!!!
Mere days after I pined for a new Guardian Heroes game, SEGA only go and announce just that!
Today it was announced that Guardian Heroes would be re-released for Xbox Live Arcade, fully re-mastered and with all the modern trimmings you’d expect.
This is literally more exciting than my upcoming wedding!
Originally released in 1996 for the SEGA Saturn and developed by Treasure, Guardian Heroes flawlessly blended RPG elements into an already potent 2D side-scrolling beat-em-up to produce one of the all-time classic Saturn games, and possibly one of the greatest brawlers ever.
Haruki Satomi, VP of Digital Business at SEGA clearly concurs. “Ever since we began to make SEGA’s classic Dreamcast and the Mega Drive titles available for modern systems, the fan response has been overwhelming… Players have been clamouring for this treasured favourite from the Saturn days, and we cannot wait to show them what we have got for them.”
Sporting re-mastered HD graphics, an expanded Battle Mode supporting up to 12 players and new gameplay modes including Time Attack, Arcade Mode and “Arrange Mode” alongside all the classic original gameplay, Guardian Heroes will be available this Autumn on Xbox Live Arcade.
We’ll bring you more details as they become available.

So…did you have, like, ten simultaneous boners?
“This is literally more exciting than my upcoming wedding!”
Well, I’m glad you have your priorities straight. Let’s hope the misses doesn’t find out about this little statement!
@Jeremy, u mad? I know they’ll be playing it together. :)
@Kyle Gaddo, Oh man I wish! Alas my darling is not a gamer girl.
She does, however, have culinary skills that would put Master Chef to shame, so it’s all good.
@Chris Phillips, ?! I always thought she gamed, even a little!
My world…she is upside-down!
@Kyle Gaddo, Weeeeell, she likes Audiosurf and Puzzlequest, and I got her a Murder, She Wrote game that she really enjoyed.
We just picked up a Kinect recently and she adores it.
But apart from that, not a gamer in the slightest. She certainly wouldn’t play something as fast paced and action-packed as a new Guardian Heroes game!
WTF YES.
Now I dont have to spend my time thinking about how to use a fucking Saturn Emulator correctly.
