I always like finding new and interesting games, but I think that Pokémon Tower Defense takes the cake today.

Following the story of either Red or Blue, this new Tower Defense game sees you naming your character, picking a starter from either Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle and then questing to stop Team Rocket from stealing all the Rare Candy. During the course of the game, you can deplete the HP of wild Pokémon and capture them to add them to your team, with new captures used as new towers.

You can level up your Pokémon “towers” and level them up and teach them new moves, with each move carrying a vastly different function than the original counterparts. For example, a move like Sand-Attack would lower an opponent’s accuracy, but in this tower defense game, it makes an enemy unable to carry Rare Candy for a period of time.

Great little game, and I’m having a good time with it. Far from complete, but there’ll be new updates with more Pokémon and more levels in the future.

Try out Pokémon Tower Defense on Newgrounds!

Thanks to my buddy Dave who posted this on Facebook and totally ruined my productivity for the day!

    Nintendo’s been trying to shut this game down. There was a port of this game on the Android Market, which was taken down in less than 24 hours after its launch.

    Nintendo’s lawyers are fast.

    @Joe Pomerening, Daaaaaang. Way fast.

    It’s not like this guy’s making any money on this, though.
