Everyone loves Chrono Trigger. Everyone. We wish Square Enix would make MORE Chrono Trigger. That’s probably not going to happen. What WILL happen though, is another opportunity to play through the original masterpiece. Squenix has confirmed that Chrono Trigger will be released on PSN in Japan this spring, and we can only hope and assume that a Western release is soon to follow.

The game is already due out on Virtual Console, but from what I can tell, this seems to be an emulation of the original SNES version, while the PSN release would be the PSX re-release, complete with added cutscenes. No news if either will include the stuff added in the DS re-release, though I wouldn’t bet on it. If that wasn’t a long enough list, Andriasang reports that the game will also be out on weirdo Japanese cell phones. You could always speculate on an iOS version, but they still haven’t gotten to release Final Fantasy Tactics yet, so…
