Thanks to a new interview with THQ’s vice president of Core Games, Danny Bilson gives us some insight on just how well INsane is coming along.

Since Christmas, it seems that Del Toro has hit a flow with the game, with Bilson stating that “He was in every meeting, he sat there all day long kicking stuff around.” The director has begun to put his heart into the game it seems, which only bodes well for us. But he also has his mind in the right place when it comes to attaching his name to this new series: “If he were here now, he’d tell you: ‘I do not want to be one of those film-makers who puts my name on something and doesn’t do the work.’”

At the same time, it’s yet to be seen if he’ll be a good film/game director, though they all have high hopes, stating “He will learn tons [on the first game], and then on the second InSane he’ll be even more opinionated because he’ll know more things to poke at.” So even if he gets something wrong on the first one (which, everyone should highly doubt will happen, considering his backlog of amazing work) at least he’s willing to continue the series, considering most other series will usually drop the series off, or come up with an even more cliche or weird ending to try and outdo themselves (kudos to those who get the reference.)

But, the game seems to be in good hands with Del Toro actually visiting the Canadian studio’s to work on the game right now. With so much passion being put into this “horror action” game, those from the horror genre have a lot to look forward to with this game, especially with moral actions being the center of it. However, we’re still going to have to wait until 2013 for any inkling of a first game to come up, but the franchise is looking forward to a decade of games in the long run.

Sigh. Two more years of waiting and counting.
