To say Duke Nukem Forever has taken a long time to come out is like saying water is wet or that The Flash can run really fast. But as it turns out, we don’t have to wait that much longer before we can finally play it. Pigs will fly, the seas will run red with blood and hell will probably freeze over!
Both the North American and worldwide release dates of Duke Nukem Forever have been revealed. You can find them, as well as a reveal trailer can be found after the cut.
Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software and executive producer of Duke Nukem Forever, as well as Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K, confirmed to Game Informer that DNF will release on May 3 in the US, and May 6 in the rest of the world.
“Somehow the guys at Game Informer magazine discovered Duke Nukem Forever’s launch date before I did,” joked Pitchford. “But I cannot imagine any better video game news source team than Game Informer to reveal the moment of truth for the most inconceivable, incorrigible and inspiring turn around story in the history of the video game industry – the coming of Duke Nukem Forever on May 3, 2011.”
“The moment fans all over the world have been waiting for is almost here,” says Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “May 3, 2011 marks Duke’s return as he unleashes his brash and brutally honest wit on the world. His return is going to be epic and one that will make video gaming history!”
Do you realise what you’re doing, Gearbox? By finishing Duke Nukem Forever you’re taking away one of the four cornerstones of video game related jokes. I hope you realise that.
