It seems that Twisted Pixel are mighty upset with Capcom for publishing a blatant ripoff of their indie hit, ‘Splosion Man. And rightfully so.
MaXplosion debuted on the Apple App Store recently and, well, the gameplay and premise is exactly like Twisted Pixel’s XBLA hit.
Twisted Pixel programmer Mike Henry called the game a “complete theft.”
“If you’re going to outright steal a game, you should at least understand what makes it fun,” he put on Twitter. “Borrowing is great. Hell, we do it all the time. But that game is a complete theft.”
Funny thing is, they had originally pitched ‘Splosion Man to Capcom for publishing, but got shot down.
Anyway, this is some crap. Capcom is huge, so Twisted Pixel might not be able to do anything about it.
Here’s a gameplay video of MaXplosion. If you are in any way familiar with the Twisted Pixel title, you’ll know that whoever developed this game blatantly ripped off the indie developer.

Not only is it a rip-off of ‘Splosion Man, it’s also a rip-off of Sonic the Hedgehog! Geez, Capcom, way to be assholes!
Blatant bullshittery.
I am disappoint.
