Capcom have unveiled four new Marvel vs. Capcom 3 characters at New York Comic Con, and they’re not who you think they are. Hit the jump for their names and some reveal trailers.
First up, Magneto. You knew this guy was in it, he’s one of the most powerful guys in the second one:
Next up, someone you could conceivably have guessed; Rad Spencer, from the Bionic Commando games.
This next one is crazier. It’s Arthur, from the Ghosts & Goblins series! And he’s totally in his underwear:
And finally, MODOK.
…MODOK!
DUDE’S A HEAD!
WAT.

Oh yeah, and Rad Spencer totally says “Get over here!” when grappling someone to him. That’s… kinda great!
*Pedant mode activated*
Actually, that’s Nathan Spencer, not Rad Spencer. Nathan Spencer is from the Bionic Commando reboot, while Rad Spencer is from the original Bionic Commando for the NES.
Also, MODOK and Arthur? Hells to the yeah!
@Jens Erik Vaaler, http://www.giantbomb.com/nathan-rad-spencer/94-124/
@Herman S. Lilleng, Yes, because a user generated wiki is such a reliable source of information. :p
Also, Nathan Spencer is a tool (in Bionic Commando for the PS3 and Xbox 360). Rad Spencer is, well, rad.
It all comes down to who you ask, I guess. I like to think the two characters are separate, mostly because Rad and Nathan both have different personalities (he wasn’t the grim and gritty mercenary type in the first Bionic Commando), not to mention different hair.
@Jens Erik Vaaler, Herman’s right, I’m afraid. They’re the same character.
@Michael O’Connor, Fuck that! I’m calling discontinuity!
@Jens Erik Vaaler, Hey, I accept that its the same Bruce Banner. That doesn’t mean I have to like it. =P
I think Spencer’s redesign is pretty terrible myself, but I’m just sayin’. It’s the same character, regardless of how I feel about it.
@Jens Erik Vaaler, “Rad” was his codename. Nathan “Rad” Spencer is his full name. Rearmed is set 10 years before the newest game.
I realise it’s a completely ridiculous physical change, because they look absolutely nothing alike, but that’s the official canon.
@Michael O’Connor, “Fuck the canon, I have opinion!” :p
I know Capcom wants them to be the same character, but I honestly don’t accept it. To me, they’re two different characters. It’s like with you and any characterisation of the Hulk other than what Peter David did.
@Michael O’Connor, @Jens Erik Vaaler, You guys are missing the important point here. Friggin’ MODOK, man!
@Herman S. Lilleng, Already commented on that. =P
@Michael O’Connor, So ignore this pointless argument and revel in the MODOKness! =D
@Herman S. Lilleng, KNEEL BEFORE MODOK!
No, wait….
M.O.D.O.K.?
What is this I don’t even…
Fuckin’ MODOK.
Can’t even believe it.
