Comic-Con is this week! We like Comic-Con. The convention started out as strictly comic book focused, but has since grown to immense size, and to be a celebration of all things geek. Comics, movies, TV, and yes, video games too.

Naturally, comic book focused games are representing the strongest, and Capcom is using the occasion to reveal four new characters from the MvC3 roster, two from each side.

From Capcom we get, to no surprise, Chun-Li from Street Fighter, as well as the less known Trish, from the Devil May Cry series.

On the Marvel side, we get two Fantastic Four villains, Doctor Doom, one of the evilest men in the Marvel universe, and a favourite from MvC2, and… Super-Skrull.

This came as a surprise to many, but it makes sense the more I think about it. The Skrulls are an alien race in the Marvel universe with shape-changing abilities. As a way to defeat the Fantastic Four, the Skrulls created Super-Skrull, a genetically modified Skrull that retains all the powers of the Fantastic Four.

So, instead of having to pick and choose between the Fantastic Four (because honestly, who would you leave out?), or to use up four whole roster spots, they picked the Super-Skrull, who has all their powers combined into one. We might still see the FF, but I’m not counting on it. If that’s the case, then itæs a shame we wont hear “Clobberin’ Time!” or “Flame On!”

Look below for the new trailer and gameplay videos, including some choice Deadpool moments, including him doing a Shoryuken, with the shout and all.

One Response so far.

  1. Jens Erik Vaaler says:

Sooo… Is Nolan North voicing Deadpool? Because he did in a Hulk vs. Wolverine animated movie they did.
Also: why do I have the feeling I’m going to be getting my punkass handed to me whenever I try to play this game online?
