Sony’s E3 press conference just wrapped up and there really wasn’t a lot of big announcements to pick and choose from. Until the end of the conference. Sony’s final bid for your time and money was David Jaffe’s Twisted Metal for the PS3.
Sweet Tooth (the crazy clown mascot for the series) came out on stage in a gigantic ice cream van along with David Jaffe from Eat Sleep Play. The audience was shown an early build of the game, which was promised to feature 16 player online matches, and 4 player split-screen.
The game promises vehicular destruction on a wide scale, with motorcycles, cars and helicopters. The demo looked very unfinished, especially with some of the physics and damage models being out of whack. But it appears to be a solid foundation. Unfortunately it didn’t really make up for the massive snoozefest that was the Sony conference.
