Yep, you read that right. Activision blogger Dan Amrich has made it clear that the company will be releasing not one, not two, but three new Call of Duty games over the next two years. This was confirmed by Amrich in a Facebook thread for a (wait for the irony…) Activision / Bobby Kotick hate group.
“As for COD, they’ve confirmed three games in the next two years. Seeing as how there is a pattern of one new COD game every year, this is one new COD game from one new developer, and in a different genre from the core games we’ve seen.”
Overkill much, Bobby?

“in a different genre from the core games we’ve seen”. So a COD RTS then? What else can you do with a World War 2 IP?
@Jens Erik Vaaler, “Warwille, a free-to-play war-farming simulator where everything except the most basic actions will cost you real money to do!”
@Michael O’Connor: “Spend your way into massive war-time debt just like a real government! Check your World Map for more targets to invade, and steal their natural resources to pay off your increasingly impatient debtors!”
@Jens Erik Vaaler, It’s been said previously that the new studio Sledgehammer (founded by, ironically, two of the head Visceral guys who left EA) are going to make some kind of action-adventure CoD game. God of Warfare?
I have no interest in anything Call of Duty until Activision works it’s shit out with Infinity Ward.
@Norlick, Considering nearly all of the senior staff left and started up their own studio, I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one. What’s left of Infinity Ward at this point is Infinity Ward in name only.
SHOVEL FASTER!
@Daruma, Digging themselves into an even bigger hole? Or is there a joke here I’m not getting? *laughs*
stupid double-posting ipod :/
@daruma, I’ll get that looked into. Have the same problem myself.
@Michael O’Connor, As in, they’re just shoveling out these CoD games as fast as they can. Also,
@Michael O’Connor,
If it’s helpful, I was replying via tweetdeck when it double-posted.
@daruma, No, I think it was an issue with the way the system was reading comment submissions – I turned off AJAX commenting, which should stop it from happening.
Anyone up for some Guitar Hero?
Anyone?
Bueller?
