Final Fantasy XIII Special Edition Xbox 360 bundle revealed

A rumor and pictures have been spreading through the internet the past few days as to a Special Edition (hereafter referred to as SE) for Final Fantasy XIII, Square-Enix’s newest game in the Final Fantasy franchise.

We are unable to see any pictures that aren’t blurry or require a login to member sites to view, but we’ll give you what we have.

The SE bundle is set to include:

- LE 250 GB Black (even though boxart shows white Xbox 360) Xbox 360 (no current branding)

- 2 Black (again, possibly white) wireless controllers

- The basics: AV Cable, Headset, Network Cable

- A copy of FFXIII (obviously)

The SE is set to retail at $399.

We’ve yet to see if there’s any truth to this rumor, but keep your eyes out for further information.

  1. This is pretty much confirmed.

    There’s something odd about seeing a numbered titled on the box for a non-Sony console, I’ll admit. I’m no fanboy about the issue, but it still hasn’t sunk in I think…

    @Michael O’Connor, Only thing im worried about is it’s changing consoles, hence a whole new player base. Sure, XB360 has more players, hence more sales, but this is a type of playe rbase that is mainly comprised of13-year olds and people who play shooters.

    @Tony Bradford,

    360 needs a good JRPG. Lost Odyssey was simply not enough, and Blue Dragon is laughable at best. Tales of Vesperia is solid, and so is Eternal Sonata, but it lacks overall.

    But really, it’s all about sales.

    Personally, I’m getting XIII for the PS3, but I’m sure they’ll look the same on either console. More discs on the 360, probably.

    @Kyle Gaddo, Lost Odyssey was the most awesome game ever.

    @Michael O’Connor,

    I really need to play the game through-and-through. I got up to the serpentine boss at the plant who likes to swallow the energy from his buddies, got frustrated when I couldn’t beat him three times and gave up. I have to pick it up again, especially now that I have an HDTV and the text isn’t all tiny and unreadable (I’m looking at you, Dead Rising and Mass Effect 2).

    Although, really, I just rented Mass Effect 2 and still have Bayonetta to finish. Probably play ME2 for a little bit and get bored of it….

  2. Well, if you only played up the second or third boss…

    The game is challenging. Suck it up. =P
