Dear lord. I’ve written so many of these in the last few months that I’m starting to find it impossible to take them seriously anymore. Australia has just banned another game.
This time, the poor victim of Australia’s archaic ratings board is Alien Vs. Predator. Here’s apparently why:
“The game contains first-person perspective, close-up depictions of human characters being subjected to various types of violence, including explicit decapitation and dismemberment as well as locational damage such as stabbing through the chest, mouth, throat, or eyes,” according to the board’s report.
I really have nothing more to say on this. It speaks for itself, really.

…. Ahahahahahaha….
xD The dude in charge of the rating board is a stupid idiot. Oh yes, as a 30+ year old gamer, I want my government to baby sit me and tells me which sparkly sparkly happy my lil’pony games I gotta play. RAWR…

Unless the Liberal (conservative) opposition win in the next SA election, March 2010, Australia will be stuck with no R rating for video games. Who’d have thought the conservative government would be the last hope for australian gamers to have an R rating?
