The Final Fantasy series may never be true to its title, but this trailer is – Square Enix has released the final Final Fantasy XIII trailer before the game’s release in Japan in less than three weeks time.
Us gamers in the west still have to wait until March 9th, 2010 to get our hands on this game, but that’s definitely a huge improvement on the almost year long wait we had to endure for past Final Fantasy games.
Hopefully this will tide you over until then. Enjoy!

Wow. The Japanese seem to have a thing for melodrama. Why couldn’t the song in this trailer be the game’s main theme song? It’s so much better than whatever Leona Lewis can come up with.
Also, am I the only one who noticed that the woman with a staff looked like a more badass version of Aeris from FFVII?
@Jens Erik Vaaler, It is the main theme tune. Only in Japan though. It’s vastly superior to that horrible song they choose for the European version, I’m sure we can agree.
To be honest, that woman with the staff (her name is Oerba Yun Vang) looks like every other generic amazonian-wannabe I’ve seen in RPGs over the years.
Example: Judith from Tales of Vesperia.
I find the cast of FFXIII to be one of the most horribly generic I have ever seen in the history of the franchise. Of course, we all know I’ll probably end up buying it the day of release regardless…
