According to a recent post on Eurogamer, numerous publishing sources have recently confirmed that Sony is working on a third hardware revision of the PSP ( PSP 4000 ) and is planning to release it next year.
Not only that, but software developers are also rumoured to be working on games for a PSP 2. There are no specific details released yet involving either of the new hardwares, and Sony continues to give the “No Comment” in response to rumors and speculation.
Whatever the truth, we’ll just have to wait to find out.

It’s official: Sony has out GBA’d Nintendo (i.e., they’ve done more iterations than the GBA, which was Nintendo’s greatest number of reiterations, until the DSi matched it). :P
