Dissidia sales blow away the competition in Japan

It looks like the PlayStation portable still has some life left in it yet. On its first day at retail in Japan yesterday, Square Enix’s Dissidia: Final Fantasy sold a whopping 350,000 copies!

40,000 of theses sales were of the 20th Anniversary Limited Pack, which came with a limited edition PSP-3000 system. This makes Dissidia’s launch equal to the success of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII — mind you, it doesn’t even come to the first day sales of Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G; an insane 670,000 units.

As you already know a US release date has already been confirmed for mid-2009. Here’s hoping it repeats the same success over here.

It probably will be able to repeat the success. Fans are fans, no matter what country they’re from. I’d buy this game, if I had a PSP.

SE’s been clever and publized just enough to keep the fans wanting, but not too much as to bore them.

I’d imagine they’ll have a similiar success here.
