Square-Enix has come out and revealed a European release date for Star Ocean: First Departure; the PSP remake of the classic Star Ocean will touch down in PAL regions on October 24, 2008.

Already out in Japan, First Departure is a remake of the original Star Ocean title that was released on the SNES back in 1996, and features enhanced visuals, CGI cut scenes and new playable characters.

The game is scheduled for release North America on October 21st, with an enhanced version of The Second Story, called “Star Ocean: The Second Evolution”, due for release on January 6, 2009.
