Speaking to the AFP recently, Wedbush Morgan’s prediction master Michael Pachter is “convinced” that Nintendo will release an HD version of the Wii in an effort to shed its “toy for my mom” image.
“Nintendo has to overcome that,” he said on the subject of facing more powerful machines in the face of PS3 and Xbox 360.
“A Wii HD would really position Nintendo well, which is why I’m absolutely convinced there is a Wii HD coming. Businesswise, they can’t have people saying that their machine is a toy for my mom.”
All way and ago, except for the fact that a) that seems to be exactly what Nintendo want people to believe the Wii is, and b) it continues to decimate the competition in the hardware sales department 2 years after its release.
