Street Fighter IV
Over the past few months, word about special edition Street Fighter IV controllers and arcade sticks has been hinted at by the folks over at Capcom. Recently it was announced that Capcom and Mad Catz Interactive had teamed up to design the controllers and arcade sticks to release with Street Fighter IV.

At first the announcement was met with groans from hardcore fighting game fans who were not pleased that Mad Catz were the ones designing the controllers. However, last week Mad Catz released information regarding the controllers and some very impressive pictures as well.

Though Mad Catz is primarily known for their mediocre gaming accessories, it seems as though they are taking this project very seriously. Working with Seth Killian from Capcom, Mad Catz are going the extra mile to ensure quality by designing the arcade sticks to include the exact same parts found in the Viewlix’s arcade cabinets (those used by Street Fighter IV in Japanese arcades).

According to Mad Catz, they will offer two different arcade sticks for purchase as well as the special edition controllers. The “premium” arcade stick is said to retail for $139.99, the “standard” stick for $69.99, and the controllers for $39.99. Though the prices are not final, it seems like a good estimate as to how much the finished product will be.

One Response so far.

If there’s one thing this game needs for the home version, it’s a decent control control stick. Lets hope it manages to be.
